Best Sweetheart Theme!

Welcome to our Saturday Blog Hop at Create With Stamping Friends. It’s a new month and Valentine’s Day is soon approaching. Our design team is featuring projects using a Best Sweetheart theme this week. This is my card:

I used the largest heart die from the Hearts Of Elegance Dies to create this card fold:

You can see how the heart cutout is still intact at the very top. I used the partial cut technique to achieve this and then added lots of heart layers on the front:

This is what the card looks like in the open position:

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Hearts Of Elegance
- Inks: Flirty Flamingo, Bubble Bath
- Cardstock: Thick Basic White, Basic White, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Gold Foil Sheets
- Designer Paper: Marbled Elegance
- Tools & Accessories: Hearts Of Elegance Dies, Adhesive-Backed Heart Sequins,
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Thick Basic White Cardstock 8-1/2 x 5-1/2. Score at 4-1/4. Follow these steps to achieve the partial cut heart:
- Place the cardstock in the open position on your cutting machine base plate. Make sure the cardstock is nice and straight, parallel to the sides.
- Use the largest heart die from the Hearts Of Elegance Dies and place the die so that 1/2″ of the top goes past the score line.
- Position the top cutting plate over the heart die so that the front edge of the cutting plate is aligned evenly with the score line.
- Run through the machine and you’ll notice the heart die will not cut above the cutting plate, leaving the heart shape intact.
- Layer 2: Designer Paper 5-1/2 x 3-1/4. Glue to the inside of the card base centered.
- Layer 3: Use the large stitched heart die to cut (1) with Basic White Cardstock and (1) with Flirty Flamingo Cardstock. Glue the white heart to the inside layer and glue the flamingo heart to the front.
- Hearts & Flowers: Cut and layer the following hearts and flowers:
- Fancy Stitched Heart: Cut with Melon Mambo Cardstock. Glue to the top left with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Small Heart: Cut with Marbled Elegance Designer Paper. Glue to the right of the large heart with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Flower: Stamp the flower with Bubble Bath Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Cut with the die. Tuck and glue under the small heart with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Leaves: Cut (2) leaves with Gold Foil Sheets. Tuck and glue under the flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on Basic White Cardstock with Flirty Flamingo Ink. Cut into two lines and close to the wording. Glue over the hearts with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Bling: Add Adhesive-Backed Heart Sequins to the hearts.
