Stencils!

Welcome to our Saturday Blog Hop at Create With Connie & Mary! I had so much fun with today’s card. Our theme was to use stencils or diecuts as stencils. I dug out my Beautiufl Shapes Dies and made my own stencil with the hexagon shapes. I added Gold Foil Sheets hexagons on top of my stenciled ones:

I took 3 hexagons of differing sizes and placed them on a Basic White Cardstock piece that measures 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ and cut all three shapes. You can use the cutouts for another project later so set them aside. The cardstock piece with the diecut holes is now a stencil:

I used a Blending Brush to add color using the stencil. My first color was Highland Heather Ink, followed by Petal Pink Ink and the final color was Parakeet Party Ink. I did overlap some of the shapes and colors too:

For the gold hexagons, I used the smallest die to cut several and then embossed the gold shapes with the Timeworn Embossing Folder.

- Card Base: Thick Basic White Cardstock 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score and fold at 5-1/2″.
- Stencil: Basic White Cardstock 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″. Use three of the hexagon dies to cut three holes for the stencil.
- Layer #2: Basic White Cardstock 5″ x 3-3/4″. Use a Blending Brush to add ink to the stencil using all three ink colors. Overlap some of the shapes. Set aside.
- Hexagons: Use the smallest die to cut about 6 hexagons using the Gold Foil Sheets. Bmboss all of the diecut hexagons with the Timeworn Embossing Folder. Glue the shapes to the card front making sure some go over the sides. Trim to fit and use the trimmed pieces also. Glue card layer to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on Basic White Cardstock with Highland Heather Ink. Cut with the large hexagon die. Glue to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
