We Have A Seaside Theme This Week!

Welcome to our Saturday Blog Hop at Create With Connie & Mary! Being from Maine, we have a lot of coastal area surrounding our state. It’s always a pleasure to visit or vacation our coastal towns and as stampers, we all love beach and ocean-themed products that remind us of the coast. I used a lot of layers on my card today and I hope it gives you an inkling of loving our seaside theme this week.

I love how I layered all of the stamped and diecut elements into the open circle and over a layer of watercolored paper that I added inks to. Can you see the raised areas of the embossed layer? I used one of the embossing folders from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders set:


Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Friends Are Like Seashells
- Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz, Bermuda Bay, Basic white, Sahara Sand, Gray Granite, Coastal Cabana, Soft Sea Foam, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper
- Inks: Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, Gray Granite
- Tools & Accessories: Faux Sea Glass, Pool Party Sheer Ribbon, Scalloped Contours Dies, Seaside Seashells Dies, Seashells 3D Embossing Folder, Stylish Shapes Dies, Basics 3D Embossing Folders, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Water Painters, Loveliest Layers Decorative Masks, Blending Brush
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Pear Pizzazz Cardstock 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
- Layer #2: Bermuda Bay Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″. Emboss with the Basics 3D Embossing Folder. Tie the Pool Party Sheer Ribbon around the cardstock and tie into a bow at the left. Glue to card base.
- Layer #3: Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper 2-7/8″ x 2-7/8″. Follow these steps:
- Use a Water Painter to add lots of water to the paper.
- Add Pear Pizzazz Ink to the water from the ink pad at the top.
- Add Bermuda Bay Ink to the water below the Pear PIzzazz Ink.
- Allow the inks to spread and allow to dry.
- Once dry, stamp the dotted image repeatedly with Bermuda Ink.
- Set aside.
- Layer #4: Basic White Cardstock and follow these steps:
- Cut with the die from the Scalloped Contours Dies that measure 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″.
- Cut a 2-5/8″ circle about 3/4″ from the top with the Stylish Shapes Dies
- Use the mask from the Loveliest Layers Decorative Masks and place over the white. Add Crumb Cake Ink with a Blending Brush.
- Glue the watercolor layer to the back of the hole with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Add more Stampin’ Dimensionals to the white layer and glue to card front about 1/2″ from the right edge.
- Stamped & Diecut Layers: Stamp and diecut as follows:
- Sand Dollar: Coastal Cabana Cardstock with Bermuda Bay Ink.
- Starfish: (2) Sahara Sand Cardstock with Sahara Sand Ink.
- Branches: (2) of each branch on Soft Sea Foam Cardstock with Old Olive Ink.
- Mini Shells: (2) with Gray Granite Cardstock with Gray Granite Ink
- Sentiment: Coastal Cabana Cardstock with Bermuda Bay Ink.
- Glue all diecuts in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Bling: Add Faux Sea Glass to the white layer.
