Fall Trees Theme!

Welcome to our Saturday Blog Hop at Create With Connie & Mary! I used a stamp set from the Annual Catalog for our Fall Tree theme this week. How about the Garden Bird Houses? Do you remember seeing that stamp set or did you miss it? It’s in our Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog and I used the branch image to create my fall tree with multi-colored leaves:

Once the branches were stamped and colored, I added a hanging birdhouse with a few birds as well. The background ink color was added with a Blending Brush.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Garden Birdhouses
- Inks: Balmy Blue, Early Espresso
- Stampin’ Write Markers: Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
- Designer Paper: Rustic Harvest
- Tools & Accessories: Deckled Rectangle Dies, Blending Brush, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Early Espresso 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score and fold at 5-1/2″.
- Layer #2: Very Vanilla Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″. Glue to card base.
- Layer #3: Rustic Harvest Designer Paper 5″ x 3-3/4 (two patterns). Measure 1-1/4″ on the left side with a pencil. Stack both pieces on top of each other and cut from the pencil mark down to the bottom right corner. Mix and match the designer papers and glue to card front. You will have enough for two cards.
- Layer #4: Very Vanilla Cardstock cut with the Deckled Rectangle Dies that measures 4-3/4″ x 3-3/8″. Follow these steps:
- Stamp the sentiment at the bottom using Early Espresso Ink.
- Use a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue Ink to add color along the edges and corners.
- Stamp the branch image several times on the left side using Early Espresso Ink.
- Stamp the birdhouse using Early Espresso Ink.
- Add a post-it note to cover the leaves of the stamped branch where the birdhouse strings will hang. Stamp the string image connecting to the birdhouse using Early Espresso Ink.
- Stamp one bird image on the birdhouse roof and one on the branches using Early Espresso Ink.
- Color the leaves, birds and birdhouse using Stampin’ Write Markers.
