Gilded Leafing and Gold Foil Sheets cut with the Meadow Dies make beautiful & striking cards!
As you can see in the three sneak peek photos above…..color and lots of color! Are you thinking I used layers of designer paper on my cards? The answer is no! I created the splash of color that you see on each card with rubbing alcohol and Stampin’ Blends Markers and I am so hooked on this technique that I could keep going and going with so many different color combinations. I will now show you the full details of each card below:
For my first card, I used Flirty Flamingo and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends Markers. All three cards use Vellum Cardstock for the technique as the background layer. Make sure you view all of the individual photos of each card and keep reading to the bottom as I have a video to show you how YOU can this!
You’ll notice on both cards that I have added some Gilded Leafing throughout the backgrounds that I created. I achieved this by using Tombow Multipurpose Glue and dabbing it on with our Palette Knives and then pressing the Gilded Leafing in place.
I decided to add a partial technique on two corners of Card #2. This time I used Shaded Spruce and Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends Markers and a reminder to make sure when you try this technique that you use as close to 100% rubbing alcohol for this to work. I purchased mine on Amazon and it is 99%. If you try it with 70% alcohol, it does not work as well.
For my last card, I did not demonstrate this one during the video because it was something I was experimenting with. I’ll be showing you a completed card in tomorrow’s post. I call this one “third time is a charm” because I repeated the technique three times to get all of those pretty circles in the background. I added the technique the first time, let it dry and repeated this three times!
Ready to give it a whirl? Here’s my video and you’ll see for yourself how easy and how fun this is. Give it a try and report back to me!
