Stampers Dozen January Blog Hop

January 14, 2023 10 Comments

Sale-A-Bration Theme!

I am so excited that I was asked to be part of the Stampers Dozen team! The team blog hops every month on the 14th and this month we are all using products from our 2023 Sale-A-Bration Brochure. At the bottom of my post, I will direct you to the next person so you can visit all of my creative teammates!

This is the project I created using the Adorable Owls stamp set which is a stamp set you can earn for free during Sale-A-Bration:

The card starts out flat as shown in the photo below and once you slide off the bellyband, the card opens up in two ways:

First, you’ll see the front of the card has a multi-sectioned accordion fold and that is attached to a regular card base that opens up to reveal another sentiment on the inside. And then you open the larger card base section to see this on the inside:

I’m not sure if I invented this card fold or if it’s an existing card fold. I’ve never seen the two card types combined into one. I’m calling this my Front Accordion Multi Card Fold. Here are the products I used and the card recipe:

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

  • Stamps: Adorable Owls
  • Inks: Basic Gray
  • Stampin’ Blends: Smoky Slate, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Pool Party
  • Cardstock: Petal Pink, Basic White
  • Designer Paper: Dandy Designs
  • Tools & Accessories: Beautiful Shapes Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Happy Labels Pick A Punch, Simply Scored, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals

Card Recipe:

  • Card Base: Petal Pink Cardstock 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score and fold at 5-1/2″.
  • Inside Layer: Basic White Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″. Stamp the owl image to the bottom center using Basic Gray Ink. Color with the Stampin’ Blends Markers. Stamp the sentiment at the top using Basic Gray Ink. Glue to the inside of the card base.
  • Front Layer #2: Dandy Designs Designer Paper 5-1/4″ x 4″. Glue to card base front.
  • Accordion Base Layer: Petal Pink Cardstock 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score at 1-1/2″, 3″, 5-1/2″ and 8″. Fold on all scored lines to form the accordion shape. Add the following layers to each section:
    • Section 1: Dandy Designs Designer Paper 4″ x 1-1/4″ glued to Section 1.
    • Section 2: Dandy Designs Designer Paper 4″ x 1-1/4″ glued to Section 2.
    • Section 3: Dandy Designs Designer Paper 4″ x 2-1/4″ glued to Section 3.
    • Section 4: Dandy Designs Designer Paper 4″ x 2-1/4″ glued to Section 4.
    • Section 5: Basic White Cardstock 4″ x 2-3/4″. Stamp the owl image to the bottom left corner using Basic Gray Ink. Color with the Stampin’ Blends Markers. Stamp the sentiment at the top using Basic Gray Ink. Glue to Section 5.
  • Bellyband: Cut a strip of Petal Pink Cardstock 11″ x 1-1/4″ and follow these steps:
    • Wrap the strip around the card front by centering the strip. Fold towards the back on each side. Remove and press the folds down with a Bone Folder. Glue the ends overlapping each other.
    • Cut (1) scallop circle using Petal Pink Cardstock and the Layering Circles Dies measuring 2-7/8″ wide. Glue to bellyband front.
    • Stamp the owl image to the bottom center using Basic Gray Ink. Color with the Stampin’ Blends Markers. Cut with the swirl circle die from the Beautiful Shapes Dies. Glue to scalloped circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Stamp the sentiment on a scrap piece of Petal Pink Cardstock. Cut close to the lettering above and below and to 2″ long. Use the Happy Labels Pick A Punch to cut each end. Glue over the owl with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
