Group Trade Card Swap with Christmas Scottie Bundle!
Good Morning! I hope your week has gone well. I have been so busy cleaning up all of the leaves that have fallen in our yard. We have a lot of birch trees in our yard and there’s too many leaves to leave them to decay on their own. Fall is definitely here but what comes next, I am not ready for!
I have a Trade Card Swap to show you today. I hosted a Trade Card Swap on my Facebook Stamp & Ink Designs Group and each group had five people in them. If you haven’t found my group on Facebook, I host an array of group activities and that’s also where I go live every Wednesday night with my weekly video. Join here:
You can see that I used the Christmas Scottie Bundle. Our swap was Christmas-themed. I embossed the scottie with Black embossing powder from our Basics Embossing Powders (#155554).
So what exactly is a Trade Card Swap? We all created five identical trade cards. I tell everyone the size and these were the rules:
Once the trade cards are created, we mail them to each other and create cards with them. So consider them as card fronts! This is the card I created with my Trade Card.
Trade Card Recipe:
- Trade Card Base: Poppy Parade Cardstock 3-1/2″ x 2-1/2″.
- Layer #2: Follow these steps:
- Basic White Cardstock 3-1/4″ x 2-1/4″. Stamp the background using Soft Sea Foam Ink and turn the stamp at an angle when stamping.
- Stamp the sentiment at the bottom using Poppy Parade Ink.
- Stamp the scottie dog on Basic White Cardstock with VersaMark Ink and sprinkle with the black embossing powder from the Basic Embossing Powders. Melt the powder with a Heat Tool. Cut with the die and glue to trade card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Stamp the bow on Basic White Cardstock with Poppy Parade Ink. Cut with the die. Glue to scottie dog and add a Rhinestone Jewels to the center of the bow.
- Stamp the snowflakes above the scottie using Poppy Parade Ink. Add Rhinestone Jewels to the center of the 2 largest snowflakes.
Glue to a Card Base:
- Card Base: Poppy Parade Cardstock 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score and fold at 5-1/2″.
- Layer #2: Gingham Cottage Designer Paper 5-1/4″ x 4″. Glue to card front.
- Ribbon: Wrap the green ribbon from the Real Red & Garden Green 3/8″ Ribbon Combo Pack around the card base twice, gluing the ends to the front where the trade card will hide. Create a double-bow and glue to the left over the ribbon.
- Glue Trade Card in place at an angle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Bling: Add Rhinestone Jewels to the background.
Want to create double-bows easily? I still have Dave’s Ribbon Bow Maker in stock. The button below will bring you to my Etsy store. If you prefer not to purchase through Etsy, contact me so I can give you my address for a check (which I prefer so I don’t have to pay Etsy fees):
