Thanks For The Comments About My 2nd Hobby!
For those of you that papercraft like I do, we always love to learn, don’t we? Stampin’ Up! has great products to play with and makes it easy for us. Well painting is the same. I am always eager to get better and to learn new things.
Last week, I took two classes on the two paintings I am showing you today. I am a paint blender by nature so painting in a looser style was a bit of a challenge for me. Both instructors offered a week-long course, so we added a little at a time each day on the first painting above. I love the sunflowers painting but really just followed the steps and didn’t really understand the concept because she failed to really explain the “why”.
For this second painting, the instructor explained the “why” of each step and I understood more why we started the background with a bright vivid color and then plopped layer after layer of paint using a color wheel and adding opposite colors from the color wheel. I could really say “I got it” with this instructor. Just on the petals alone there are 7 layers of different colors. Wowza!
For those of you that watch my videos, I always include tips and the “why” of how I’m doing the steps. It’s the same when it comes to painting. I try to think of someone that has never stamped and is new. At first you feel lost and when you can find someone that fully explains the steps, gives you a boost of confidence and wanting to continue.
I hope you enjoyed my two paintings today. I received lots of comments and emails when I started showing my art last week. I do sell my paintings so some that I will be showing you have already been sold. I am also participating in two crafts fairs in the next few weeks, and I usually do well selling there as well.
