A Pretty Stenciled Background & A Pretty Stenciled Flower!
Stampin’ Up! has some wonderful Decorative Masks in just about every catalog lately and I love collecting them. The masks make is so easy to add designs to a background or to create a flower like I did on my card front. You can see below that the Loveliest Layers Decorative Maskes come with 5 stencils:
The leaves and flower are completed with 2 steps. A lighter color and a darker color if you are using inks Or you can do what I did and use the same ink color for both stencils. When you apply the same color twice, the 2nd layer appears darker. If you’ve never used our masks before, here is the catalog description for this set:

Use with Embossing Paste and Palette Knives or Classic Stampin’ Ink and coloring tools, such as Blending Brushes and Sponge Daubers for beautiful color.
Another way that I made my layers pretty, was to use our Shimmery White Cardstock. You can see the sparkle that this paper shows, even through the inks. I hand-cut the flower and leaves and popped them up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The colors used on today’s card are: Night Of Navy, Fresh Freesia and Pear Pizzazz.
Want to learn about another tip I used? We don’t currently carry a corner rounder punch in our catalogs and I knew I wanted rounded corners on my white layer. I dug out the Heart Punch Pack (not the scalloped one) and used one of the heart “bumps” to add the rounded look to each corner. You can see how I inserted my cardstock into one of the heart bumps below:
