My Christmas Cards for Our Family This Year and More!
The Joy Of Sharing Kit was in our Clearance Rack a few months ago and I grabbed one. I thought it would be a great idea and memento to send to Dave’s family and my family as a remembrance of him since his passing. These were professional photos we had done the year we found out about his cancer. I miss him so much. It’s been almost six months now and it feels like forever since I’ve been with him.
The kit contents gave you the option of creating photo cards like I did or decorative cards. Your choice:
It was hard to capture in my photos but the layer that outlines our photo is gold foil. Pretty, shiny and elegant all in one. I absolutely love the sentiment that I added to the inside with the stamp set that was included:
The kit had enough cards for 15 total and I had so many pieces and layers left over after I completed all 15 cards. What to do with the leftovers? I immediately thought of a Christmas Sampler! See what I mean? Isn’t it gorgeous?
I used Real Red, Basic White and Mossy Meadow for my cardstock colors & layers.
I also glued and mounted all of my squares on an artist canvas. I love it!
The biggest point I want to make with my post today is what you can do with kits. I often read or hear people say, I skipped Paper Pumpkin this month or, I don’t care for kits. My Sampler project was not something that was intended with this kit but look at the beautiful project I completed. I do the same with Paper Pumpkin kits, I always create unintended projects because that’s how versatile our kits are and that’s how I roll!

Great tribute to Dave for his family. I loved that kit for that big sentiment! I made the card with that in the center and the gold framed part and they looked pretty darn good! I kept the gold paper insides and have been using them when possible. I still have more die cut poinsettias etc left. I bought two or three of the kits and shared with some of my customers (both of them) to make some cards. We had a great time playing with the pieces. I had not thought about the sampler and that will work for me! Thanks for the idea.

This will be a sad and difficult time of year for you Debbie but your faith and loving memories will help sustain you in your time of sorrow. Millions of people are suffering just like you are and it’s such a difficult thing to deal with as nothing takes the place of a loved one.
I had a phone call other day from my cousin’s hubby who is going through this rough patch. It’s so difficult to hear a man cry but we all have to deal with our sorrows eh?
May The Lord help you in this time of year. Try and have a happy festive season and know others are suffering along with you.

Beautiful picture of the two of you. Dave’s family and your family will treasure this for years. It is very special and you are so thoughtful to make and share this with them.
This holiday will be tough to go through but you are so strong. Remember you are in our prayers.
Sending lots of thoughts, prayers and hugs to you!
