What a Neat Way To Gift a Small Present!
Have I told you lately how much I love our new Stampin’ Up! In Colors that debuted with our new catalog in May? Parakeet Party is such a happy green and I have been using it a lot. I created this gift box that opens up to reveal a few pockets for messages, a window on the front and a lid to keep everything intact. I have lots of photos below to show you all of the details:
I had seen a photo of a similar project but there was no name to the creator so I apologize if I’m not giving someone credit for this project as I usually try to do that when possible. I was able to visually create this project with my own measurements.
Products Used:
- Stamps: Hello Ladybug
- Cardstock: Basic White, Parakeet Party
- Designer Paper: 2022-2024 In Color Designer Paper
- Inks: Starry Sky
- Tools & Accessories: Window Sheets, Layering Circles Dies, Medium Daisy Punch, Ladybug Builder Punch, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Starry Sky 1/8″ Metallic Woven Ribbon, Handheld Punch, Simply Scored Scoring Tool
Here are the layers and measurements:
Lid:
- Parakeet Party Cardstock 3-7/8″ x 3-7/8.
- Score at 1/2″ on all four sides.
- On two opposite sides, cut on the short scored lines shown in red on the pattern below to create tabs.
- Fold cardstock on all scored lines.
- Add adhesive to the small tabs and glue to the inside to form the sides. TIP: Glue the tabs loosely so they will fit over the box. Don’t line up exactly at the scored lines. I lined mine up about 1/16th” from the scored lines on each tab.
- Glue a designer paper layer to the top of the lid that measure 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″.
- Decorate the designer paper square on top as you like. I used the Hello Ladybug Bundle and the Medium Daisy Punch.
Box Bottom:
- Parakeet Party Cardstock 8-1/4″ x 8-1/4″.
- Score at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″. Turn cardstock once and score again.
- Cut off each corner diagonally as shown on the pattern.
- Cut four slits as shown in red on the pattern.
- Fold cardstock on all scored lines.
- Use the Layering Circles Dies, cut a 2-1/8″ Circle on one section. You will have to fold over some of the tabs so you can run the cardstock and die through your die-cutting machine. Use one of the tabs that has no diagonals attached to it to cut the circle.
- Glue a Window Sheet to the inside of the circle that measures 2-5/8″ x 2-5/8″. I added Mini Glue Dots to each corner to keep it looking neat.
- Add designer paper layers to the front and on the inside that measure 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″. You will need 7 total.
- Once the designer paper layers are glued in place, fold the diagonal layers towards the center on the inside and glue to secure to form the two pockets.
- Decorate the designer paper squares as you like. I used the Hello Ladybug Bundle.
Tags:
- You will need two tags for the pockets. Cut Parakeet Party Cardstock to measure 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″ x 2.
- Glue a Basic White Cardstock layer to each tag that measures 2″ x 2″. Stamp as you like.
- Use a handheld punch to add a small hole at the top and add ribbon tied into a knot.
- Slide each tag into each pocket.
