Sharing in Dave’s Milestone Birthday

See this guy here? It’s my hubby Dave or better know to me as my Stud Muffin. He’s been my rock for 16 years now and he’s one of the most honest men I’ve ever known. I always describe him as “never a dull moment”. You can ask our friends when we go out as a group. He’s never an attention-seeker but you can always see his wheels-a-spinning! You know he’s going to crack you up with something.
This man turns 70 today. This man is also fighting for his life as I write this. He is in his last days with us as the cancer has taken over. He has not eaten a meal for 11 days now and sips on water when taking his medication. He has been asking for orange juice the past few mornings and Pepsi but very little. As I write this, I have to tell you that his goal for the past month has been to make it to his 70th birthday. I started this post yesterday and have prescheduled it so I do hope he is here with me for his birthday today when you read this.
While he was sleeping yesterday afternoon, I sauntered over to my neglected stamp room. I haven’t felt like being in there for a few weeks now. This is the card that I created using the A Good Man stamp set because just simply, Dave is a good man. The image I used is him totally.

I can see him sitting outdoors in a chair just like this with the same type of fishing hat and taking a nap. He loves nature and we always had fun doing recreational activities. I colored Dave with Stampin’ Blends Markers and had to add the amazing sentiment because he is absolutely amazing. For those of you that have been following his story, he has been fighting renal cancer metastasized to bone cancer for almost three years now. It’s unheard of to fight this long with his type of cancer. God has blessed us with many miracles but now time is running out. Join me in wishing a very Happy 70th Birthday!

May God’s favor and peace rest with you both today and the days ahead.
John 14:27
Happy Birthday Dave
Thank you Seletta!
Wishing Dave an extra special birthday today.
Thanks Sue. I remember when I met you gals at a Stampin’ Up! event in Utah and you hollered my name at one of the stores we were shopping at. Dave was amazed that you all knew who I was. He got a good chuckle and was so proud of me!
Love and a tight hugI have been on that journey and it is so hard! May many blessings come your way in the days ahead.💓
Thanks Suzanne, no one truly knows until they walk this terrible walk!
Praying that our Lord and Savior carry you both through this time. His strength is with you Debbie.
Happy Birthday Dear Dave! So thankful for you.
Thank you so much Kelly!
Debbie, your post brought me to tears. You have both been so courageous in dealing with this dread disease. What a beautiful tribute to Dave! Happy Birthday, Dave 🎈
Thanks for the birthday wishes Beverly. It’s going to be hard but I’m at peace knowing he will not suffer any longer when it happens.
That is the only blessing that comes from watching your loved one suffer, knowing that once God takes them to Peace and Everlasting Love there will be no more suffering.
May your family be uplifted in prayer, and unending good memories.

Debbie, I’ve only been with SU since 2017 but when I first joined I watched videos constantly. You are one of the first demo I watched and I still learn so much from you. I remember Dave would be on with your dog Ruger. May God give Dave peace and to be free of pain and suffering. May you and your family take comfort in knowing that you will be reunited again. I’ve always heard that there is more than one way of healing and I know that will be painful for you. You’ve been in my prayers and will continue to be.

Debbie,
I’m a fellow demonstrator who has been following you for several years. I walked your path 3.5 years ago and have been praying for both you and Dave since you shared the news. God is faithful and I believe He carries us rather than we walking through this valley of the shadow of death because you are accompanying Dave on his walk. Praise God that we can take a tiny measure of comfort for now because we KNOW we will see our beloved husbands again. I will continue to uphold you in prayer long into the future my sister in Christ.
Christine, thanks so much and I’m so sorry you shared the same experience. It’s dreadful!
May you feel God’s loving arms around you at this very difficult time.
I was looking for a card for my husband who turns “70” on May 26th, 2022. When I saw this card it was PERFECT and started reading your story and Dave’s….I am so sorry! This is almost a year later than most these posts. I pray that God is with you every step of this difficult journey I can’t imagine the pain you have struggled with.
Prayers for you!
Ginny Pream
I’m so glad this card was perfect for you to use Ginny!
