Designer Paper Theme Meets Timeless Plaid!

Welcome to Create With Stamping Friends Creatively Simple! Connie and I create simple cards with a theme each week and for this month, this is our theme:

I chose the Timeless Plaid Designer Paper and added two patterns along with images from the Friendly Seagulls stamp set. You can still earn this stamp set for FREE during Sale-A-Bration which ends in a few days!

It was easy to add two patterns side-by-side by gluing them in place at an angle and trimming off the excess. No measuring! And what about the adorable seagull & french fries?

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Friendly Seagulls
- Inks: Early Espresso
- Cardstock: Early Espresso, Basic White
- Designer Paper: Timeless Plaid
- Tools & Accessories: Paper Snips, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Blender Pens, Watercolor Pencils
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Early Espresso Cardstock 11 x 4-1/4. Score and fold at 5-1/2.
- Layer 2: Basic White Cardstock 5 x 3-3/4. Set aside.
- Layer 3: Follow these steps:
- Two designer paper patterns glued side-by-side at an angle leaving some white showing below the DSP. Trim to fit.
- Stamp the sentiment at an angle below the DSP with Early Espresso Ink to the right.
- Add a 1/2″ strip of Early Espresso Cardstock where the two papers meet. Trim excess at the top.
- Glue layer to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Seagull & French Fries: Stamp both images on Basic White Cardstock with Early Espresso Ink. Color with a Blender Pen and Watercolor Pencils. Hand-cut and glue to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
This is how I color. I scribble the watercolor pencils on a scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock by making a color palette. I then grab the color with my Blender Pen:
