Beautiful Door Scenery Inspiration Photo!

Welcome to our Create With Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration challenge is this gorgeous photo:

I loved the beautiful red door so decided to replicate it and it even opens!

Here are a few more photos to show you how the doors open on the front. In essence, you can write a note on the inside layer once the doors are open. You can also write a 2nd note inside the card base. So lots of room for writing something special for Christmas.

Cardstock: Basic Black, Granny Apple Green, Real Red, Basic White
Tools & Accessories: Sophisticated Sled, Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Blending Brushes, Low Profile Dots

Card Recipe:

Card Base: Basic Black Cardstock 11 x 4-1/4. Score and fold at 5-1/2.
Layer 2: Granny Apple Green Cardstock 5-1/4 x 4. Glue to card base.
Layer 3: Basic White Cardstock 4-1/4 x 3. Glue to the center of the card front.
Layer 4: Real Red Cardstock 4-3/4 x 3-1/2. Follow these steps to create the doors:
- Use a Paper Trimmer to cut a slit in the center starting at 1/2″ from the top on the short end down to 1/2″ from the bottom.
- Turn the cardstock to the long side and cut a slit 1/2″ wide and starting 1/2″ from the top down to 1/2″ from the bottom.
- Repeat at the other end.
- Turn the cardstock again to the short end at the top of the trimmer and score at 1/2″ between the cut lines.
- Repeat at the other end.
- Open each door and fold on the scored lines.
- Layer the doors flat and emboss the cardstock layer with the Birch Wood Embossing Folder.
- Use Mossy Meadow Ink with a Blending Brush and lightly color the embossing bumps.
- Glue cardstock layer to card front.
Wreath: Stamp the wreath image on Basic White Cardstock with Mossy Meadow Ink. Color with Stampin’ Blends. Cut with the die and glue to one door only with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Skates: Cut the skates with Basic White Cardstock and the blades & shoelaces with Basic Black Cardstock. Assemble each skate. Glue to the wreath.
Sentiment: Stamp the sentimen to Basic White Cardstock 2 x 1/4 with Real Red Ink. Glue above the door.
Bling: Add Low Profile Dots on each side of the sentiment.
Bough: Stamp the bough image inside the white layer inside the doors with Mossy Meadow Ink and color with Stampin’ Blends.
