Cat Lovers Will Love This One!
Good Sunday Morning! For the next few days, I am continuing to show you some swap cards that I received from on Control Freaks team featuring our new catalogs that started in January. Today’s card was designed by Connie Babbert and if you love cats, you’ll love this card.
Oh and speaking of cats, it’s been so quiet in our home since Dave made his journey to heaven and our beagle Ruger followed him 7 months later. Even though I had said no more pets, I caved. I visited one of our local animal shelters last week and picked out a one year old male cat. He was vaccinated and tested this past week and all is good. He has an appointment to be neutered on Thursday and then I can go pick him up on Saturday. I have already purchased all the necessary cat things that he’ll need. He was such a cuddle-bug when I visited. So stay tuned for pictures, I’m a little excited!
This is the Love Cats stamp set that Connie used, which I have been haven’t inked it up yet. Her card layers are as follows:
- Card Base: Thick Basic White 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score and fold at 5-1/2″.
- Layer #2: Orchid Oasis Cardstock 5″ x 3-3/4″. Set aside.
- Layer #3: Country Gingham Designer Paper 5″ x 2″. Glue to the left side of layer 2 leaving 1/4″ showing.
- Layer #4: Sweet Sorbet Cardstock 3-3/4″ x 1-1/2″. Glue to layer 2. Stamp the sentiment at the bottom left with Orchid Oasis Ink.
- Ribbon: Wrap Orchid Oasis Woven Metallic Ribbon above the sentiment and tie into a double knot at the left. Glue layer to card front.
- Bling: Add Heart Pearls to the right of the sentiment.
- Stamped Layer: Stamp the cat image on Basic White Cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Color the heart with Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Blends Markers. Cut the image with the 2-3/4″ circle from the Layering Circles Dies. Cut the circle flat below the cat image and glue above the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
