Create An Ombre Card Theme!

Welcome to our Saturday Blog Hop at Create With Connie & Mary!  It’s Ombre time! Do you know what that means? It means adding similar colors from dark to light or light to dark. I decided to go with shades of green:

I used our new Hello Irresistible Collection to create my card. I love the border die that is included in the Irresistible Blooms Dies. I cut three colors: Shade Spruce, Pear Pizzazz ans Soft Sea Foam. It was easy to glue the border strips to the white layer by adding tiny drops of multipurpose glue under the larger dots:

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

  • Stamps: Irresistible Blooms
  • Inks: Shaded Spruce, Pear Pizzazz
  • Cardstock: Shade Spruce, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sea Foam, Basic White
  • Tools & Accessories: Irresistible Blooms Dies, Picture This Dies, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Card Recipe:

  • Card Base: Shaded Spruce Cardstock 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score and fold at 5-1/2″.
  • Layer #2: Pear Pizzazz Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″. Glue to card base.
  • Layer #3: Basic White Cardstock 5″ x 3-3/4″. Set aside.
  • Border Layers: Using the border die, cut one each in Shade Spruce, Pear Pizzazz ans Soft Sea Foam Cardstocks. Glue one at the top and two at the bottom. Trim to fit.
  • Stamped Images: Stamp the leaves in the blank area on the white layer with Shaded Spruce and Pear Pizzazz Inks. Stamp the dotted image a few times by stamping on scrap paper first for a lighter color.
  • Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on a circle cut from the Picture This Dies and Basic White Cardstock with Shaded Spruce Ink. Glue over the leaves with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Bling: Add Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the stamped background and to some of the diecut border circles.
