Modern Christmas!
Welcome to our Saturday Blog Hop at Create With Connie & Mary! The Peace To You stamp set is the perfect true meaning of Christmas. I didn’t even have to do any thinking of what stamp set to use when I created for today’s theme. Clean, simple and lots of meaning.
I used the Merry Melody Embossing Folder for the background after I added a watercolor wash to the background, slightly skewed from the center. The Fluid 100 Watercolor paper not only takes ink well, the embossing is fabulous!
Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Peace To You
- Inks: Fresh Freesia, VersaMark, Pacific Point
- Cardstock: Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, Basic White, Balmy Blue
- Tools & Accessories: Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins, Stylish Shapes Dies, Merry Melody Embossing Folder, Paper Snips, Foam Adhesive Sheets, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Water Painter, Heat Tool, Basics Embossing Powder, Broze & Ivory Stampin’ Blends
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Balmy Blue Cardstock 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score and fold at 5-1/2″.
- Layer #2: Basic White Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″. Glue to card base.
- Layer #3: Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper 5″ x 3-3/4″. Use a Water Painter with Fresh Freesia Ink to add ink to the background. Emboss with the Merry Melody Embossing Folder. Allow to dry and glue to card front using Foam Adhesive Sheets.
- Stamped Image: Ink the stamp the image first with VersaMark Ink followed by Pacific Ink. Stamp on Balmy Blue Cardstock. Sprinkle Clear Embossing Powder and melt with the Heat Tool. Hand cut around the image leaving 1/8″ showing. Color the skin with the Stampin’ Blends Markers. Glue to card front a little to the left using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on a scrap piece of the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Cut with the banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Glue to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Bling: Add the white sequins to the background.
