Fun Shaped Cards!

I used the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set, Detailed Pumpkins Dies and the Harvest Meadow Designer Paper. I opted to layer the back of the card in white for space to add a sentiment and a handwritten note:

Aren’t the details from the stamp set, dies and designer paper pretty?

I’ll try to explain how I made this card as I adapted one that I found that used 12″ cardstock and I used 11″ cardstock! It would be much easier to explain in a video so bear with me!

  • Card Base: Mint Macaron Cardstock 11″ x 5-1/2″. Score at 5-1/4″ and 10-1/2″. Score diagonally not including the small tabbed section. Your cardstock should look like this with a few more score lines to add:
  • Use a pencil to add marks on each long side at 2-5/8″ & 8-1/4″. Score diagonally to each mark.
  • Fold the scored lines so they alternate between a valley fold and a mountain fold. The diagonal folds in the center will tuck inside the card once it is folded in half to the shape of the card.
  • Cut a 2nd cardstock piece to measure 5-1/2″ x 2-1/2″. Score at 1″ & 2″ on the short side. Fold on the scored lines. Add Tear & Tape to the small tabbed end and glue to the inside of the card base side without the tabbed end and trim the ends at an angle (Photo 1). Add Tear & Tape to the small tabbed end of the card base and trim the two ends at an angle. Press in place to the small cardstock piece. This creates a tent for the card to stand up.
  • Basic White Layers: Cut (2) pieces to measure 5″ x 4-3/4″. Add a pencil mark at the top of the 5″ side at 2-1/4″ from each end and add another one in the center at 2-1/2″. Add tick marks on each side at 2-1/4″. Cut from tick mark to tick mark for the two small triangles on each corner. Cut from the center mark to the two bottom corners for the large triangle. Glue the two triangles to one side of the card base and the single large triangle to the center. Repeat for side #2.
  • Designer Paper: Harvest Meadow Designer Paper, cut (1) to measure 4-1/2″ x 4-1/4. Add tick marks like you did on the white layers using the half point mark and 1-3/4″ from each end and top on the 4-1/2″ side. Cut and glue over the white layers on the front.
  • Decorate the front using a large diecut pumpkin from the dies with Basic White Cardstock, a stamped pumpkin using Mint Macaron Ink and Mint Macaron Cardstock and cut with the die and a Harvest Meadow Designer Paper pumpkin cut with the die. The leaves on each pumpkin are cut with the dies and Evening Evergreen Cardstock. The mint pumpkin is glued in place using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on Calypso Coral Cardstock using Mint Macaron Ink. Hand cut close to the lettering using Paper Snips. Glue in place using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Bling: Add Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the background.
