12 Days of Christmas, Day #1 and CCMC178!

December 1, 2011 10 Comments

Wow, today is December 1st! Starting today, I will be showcasing the “12 days of Christmas”. Each project and card set will have a Christmas theme for you to draw inspiration from and each new day, you will have the pleasure of viewing a card with a matching treat holder of some sorts. What a great way to start my “12 days of Christmas” by using the sketch for this week’s challenge at Create with Connie & Mary!

Below is the sketch for this week:

This is my card:

And this is the matching “Goodie Holder”:
For the card, the vertical sentiment is from the It’s A Wrap Holiday Stamp Set. Not only can you use these stamped images to wrap around Nugget Candy Bars, but you can use them directly on your card. I just stamped two on my panel and embossed with Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder.
I just love the ornament stamp that co-ordinates with the Ornament Punch. I stamped the image twice with VersaMark Ink and  embossed one with Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder and one with Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder. I used my 1″ Circle Punch on the Wild Wasabi and layered over the Cherry Cobbler with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Cherry Cobbler is my favorite red for Christmas cards:

I used the same supplies for my pyramid box so that everything matches perfectly.

Card & Pyramid Box Supplies:

  • Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi
  • DSP: Holly Berry
  • Tools: BigShot Machine, Stocking Accents Die, Ornament Punch, Cherry Cobbler & Wild Wasabi Embossing Powders, Heat Tool, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Sponge Dauber, 1″ Circle Punch
  • Inks: Wild Wasabi, VersaMark
  • Accessories: Rhinestone Jewels, Quilted Satin Ribbon
  • Stamps: Its A Wrap Holidays, Tags Til Christmas

Thanks for visiting and don’t forget to visit Create with Connie & Mary to view all of the other designers creations!

WOW!! I love your card! I love how you used the It's A Wrap Holidays set! And I love how you punched out the center of the ornament in another color – too clever!! The treat box is wonderful!

So fun to see someone use It's a Wrap for something other than wrapping a nugget! Pretty card! Very tasteful!

Very nice. I love all the richness in the card and how you used the holiday wrap stamp as a "stamp" and not a wrap! And that box is adorable too!

Hi Debbie – I started with Day 3 and working backwards! Now, this idea just gave me an idea for a gift exchange!. It was to be something something totally goofy or just plain awesome for $5.00 or less. I found a great mug at the dollar store and was just going to add some candy or tea bags to it but I am now wondering if one of those little Keurig single coffee things would fit in this holder? We drew names and I know the person has one of those coffee systems. Thanks for some more great inspiration!

Hi Chris, I don't have your email address in the comment you made so I'm hoping you will come back to the comments. I do believe a Keurig cup would fit in one of these and they are so easy to make. Email me if you have any questions!

This is such a beautiful gift set! So much texture and layering really make this feel almost regal! Great use of the It's a wrap set too!

What a great gift set Debbie! I love the wasabi center on the cobbler ornament…it looks just like a vintage ornament! Love all the rich details too!
