An Open Fence On The Fold Card Fold!

Good Morning! It’s Day 2 of my Open Fence Card Fold features this week. This time, the fence action is all on the fold. See how the fence is open on the front and back on the top folded part of the card?

And what about those pretty pansies? Just so you’ll know, I am using the Pansy Patch stamp set and Pansy Dies on all 5 cards this week. If you missed my first card, click on HOME at the top of my page so you can scroll down to see it. Okay, let’s continue on with a list of what I used:

Products Used:

  • Stamps: Pansy Patch
  • Inks: Highland Heather
  • Cardstock: Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green, Copper Clay, Pool Party, Basic White
  • Tools & Accessories: Pansy Dies, Brushed Brass Butterflies, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Multipurpose Glue

Photo 1:

  • Card Base: Basic White Cardstock 11″ x 3-1/2″.
  • Score at 5-1/2″.
  • Use a Paper Trimmer and start on one end of the 3-1/2″ side and cut at every 1/2″ up to 7″. You should have 6 cuts total. (sorry I forgot to take a photo of this step)

Photo 2:

  • Using a Paper Trimmer, cut off every other strip (strip #2, #4, #6″) at the 7″ end. Your card base should look like photo 2.

Photo 3:

  • Fold on the score line.

Photo 4:

  • Using the strips that were cut off, glue one to the bottom of the card base, making sure the strip is even on the ends of all four loose strips from the card base. Trim to fit.
  • Place a 2nd strip above the first one as a guide (unglued). Glue a 2nd strip above the guide and trim to fit. Remove guide.
  • Repeat the 2nd step until 5 strips have been glued in place and trimmed (you may need to cut additional 1/2″ strips of Basic White).

  • This photo shows what your card base should look like with all of the strips glued in place.

Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on a Basic White Cardstock strip 3-1/4″ x 1/2″ with Highland Heather Ink. Cut the right end into a banner shape. Glue to card front on the 2nd fence strip from the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals and even with the left edge.

Create (2) large pansies as follows:

  • Use the (3) large pansy petals base dies and Basic White Cardstock. Cut one of each for each flower.
  • Use the (3) slim pansy petal layers with Highland Heather Cardstock. Cut one of each for each flower. Glue to each petal.
  • Layer and glue the (3) petals together to form the flower.
  • Cut (1) flower center with Copper Clay Cardstock and glue to the center of the flower.
  • Cut (1) small flower center with Granny Apple Green Cardstock and glue to the center of the flower.
  • Repeat for each pansy.
  • Glue each flower to the fence with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Create (2) pansy buds and leaves as follows:

  • Stems: (2) with Granny Apple Green Cardstock
  • Petals (middle): (2) with Basic White Cardstock and glue to the stems
  • Petals (back): (2) with Highland Heather Cardstock and glue to the back of the white petals
  • Leaves: (2) with Granny Apple Green Cardstock
  • Tuck and glue the flowers and leaves with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the fence.

Add Brushed Brass Butterflies to the fence and one to a leaf.

How am I doing so far? Ready for another Open Fence Card Fold tomorrow? See you then!
