Ocean Friends & A Blue Lobster!

Welcome to our Create With Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration challenge is a blue lobster!

Most of you know that I am from Maine and that Maine is a lobster state. Is there really such a thing as a blue lobster? It’s very rare but yes, there are blue lobsters! I’ve never had one so not sure if it remains blue once cooked. Our blackish ones do turn orange (not red)!

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamps: Ocean Friends
Inks: Blueberry Bushel, Boho Blue, Lemon Lime Twist, Calypso Coral
Cardstock: Boho Blue, Lemon Lime Twist, Basic White
Designer Paper: Friends Of The Ocean
Tools & Accessories: Ocean Friends Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Blender Pen

Card Recipe:

Card Base: Boho Blue Cardstock 11 x 4-1/4. Score and fold at 5-1/2.
Layer 2: Friends Of The Ocean Designer Paper 4 x 2. Glue about 1-1/4″ from the bottom.
Layer 3: Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock 4-1/4 x 3. Glue at an angle at the top left.
Layer 4: Basic White Cardstock 4-1/4 x 3. Follow these steps:
- Stamp the sentiment at the top right with Calypso Coral Ink.
- Stamp the coral with Lemon Lime Twist Ink. Some without reinking for a lighter color.
- Stamp the waves at the bottom on each side with Boho Blue Ink. Some without reinking for a lighter color.
- Lobster: Stamp on Basic White Cardstock with Blueberry Bushel Ink. Stamp the inside with the same ink color but on scrap paper first and without reinking for a lighter color. Cut with the die and glue to the white layer at the bottom left with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Stamp the bubbles around the lobster with Blueberry Bushel Ink. Use the inked lines with a Blender Pen to add color.
- Glue white layer to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals at the bottom right and at an angle.
