Die Art Umbrella With A Sprinkle Of Hearts!

Welcome to our Create With Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration challenge is a really colorful photo full of umbrellas:

I could have used the inspiration photo as a color challenge but decided to tackle a die art umbrella. Since I don’t have a stamp set that has an umbrella, I created my own!

It was quite simple to create. I used the 2nd circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies and once that shape was cut, used a smaller circle die to create the umbrella scallops:

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:
- Stamps: Lovely Arrangements
- Inks: Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Darling Duckling
- Stampin’ Blends: Azure Afternoon
- Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Azuer Afternoon, Darling Duckling, Garden Green, Timid Tiger, Basic Gray, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper
- Tools & Accessories: Stylish Shapes Dies, Bee Builder Punch, Water Painter, Foam Adhesive Sheets, Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Stampin’Spritzer
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Poppy Parade Cardstock 11 x 4-1/4. Score and fold at 5-1/2.
- Layer 2: Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper 5 x 3-3/4.
- Spritz with water I a Stampin’ Spritzer.
- Using Smoky Slate and Darling Duckling Inks, pick up the ink colors from the lid with a Water Painter and drop onto the spritzed water.
- Allow the ink to travel and spritz again if needed.
- Allow to dry.
- Stamp the sentiment at the top with Basic Gray Ink.
- Add Foam Adhesive Sheets to the back and glue to card base.
- Umbrella: Create as follows:
- Poppy Parade Cardstock cut with the 2nd circle die from Stylish Shapes Dies.
- Cut off about 3/4″.
- Use the smallest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut the scallop shapes across the flat part of the circle starting in the center and working on both sides.
- Glue to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Umbrella Handle: Cut a skinny strip with Basic Gray Cardstock. Glue to the umbrella.
- Hearts: Use the small heart from the Bee Builder Punch to cut four cardstock colors. Glue some of the hearts inside the umbrella, some below and some around the handle.
- Bling: Color Basic Rhinestone Jewels with Stampin’ Blends and glue to the umbrella.
