Create With Stamping Friends Creatively Simple 206

Animals Theme With Hugs & Healings!

Welcome to Create With Stamping Friends Creatively Simple! Connie and I create simple cards with a theme each week and for this month, this is our theme:

I chose the Hugs & Healing stamp set for my simple card, because the animal images are adorable. I colored my kitty with Stampin’ Blends:

It’s always nice to have cards with animals for those that have pets. Unfortunately, our pets are like our children and when we lose one, the grief is real. This is the kitty I rescued from a local animal shelter and his name is Ozzie. It was so quiet in my home when my hubby passed away of cancer four years ago. I decided I needed the pitter-patter of little kitty feet and boy does he not disappoint!

The background was created with the Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder and I also stamped direct-to-designer-paper for the sentiment layer:

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

  • Stamps: Hugs & Healing
  • Inks: Basic Gray
  • Cardstock: Lost Lagoon, Smoky Slate, Basic White
  • Stampin’ Blends: Smoky Slate, Blackberry Bliss
  • Designer Paper: Neutrals, Subtles
  • Tools & Accessories: 2″ Circle Punch, 2-3/8″ Circle Punch, Starburst Sequins, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder

Card Recipe:

  • Card Base: Lost Lagoon Cardstock 11 x 4-1/4. Score and fold at 5-1/2.
  • Layer 2: Smoky Slate Cardstock embossing with the Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder. Glue to card front.
  • Designer Papers: Use 2 patterns of designer paper and cut with the 2-3/8″ Circle Punch. Stamp the sentiment and paw prints on one circle with Basic Gray Ink. Glue to corrugated layer.
  • Stamped Image: Stamp the kitty image on Basic White Cardstock with Basic Gray Ink. Cut with the 2″ Circle Punch. Color with Stampin’ Blends. Glue over the 2 designer paper circles with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Bling: Add Starburst Sequins to the 2 designer paper circles.
  • Paw Prints: Stamp the paw prints on the outside of each circle with Basic Gray Ink.
