Pretty Poinsettia For A Christmas Card!

Welcome to our Create With Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration challenge is all about the Christmas holiday because as a stamper, we know that we should start working on Christmas cards early!

The Pretty Poinsettia Bundle makes pretty poinsettias, that’s for sure! I love how you can diecut multiple sizes and stack them together.

I even colored all of the petals with the Barely Blush Shimmer Pen. It shimmers so much in real life:

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

  • Stamps: Pretty Poinsettia
  • Inks: Peaceful Pine, Barely Blush
  • Cardstock: Real Red, Barely Blush, Basic White, Old Olive
  • Designer Paper: A Stitched Season
  • Tools & Accessories: Pretty Poinsettia Dies, Peaceful Pine Bordered Ribbon, Adhesive-Backed Blooms, Forever Plaid Embossing Fodler, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, Barely Blush Shimmer Pen

Card Recipe:

  • Card Base: Real Red Cardstock 11 x 4-1/4. Score and fold at 5-1/2.
  • Layer 2: Barely Blush Cardstock 5-1/4 x 4. Emboss with the Forever Plaid Embossing Folder. Glue to card base.
  • Layer 3: Basic White Cardstock 4-1/4 x 3. Set aside.
  • Layer 4: A Stitched Season Designer Paper-2 prints
    • Print 1: 3 x 2
    • Print 2: 3 x 2-1/4
    • Glue both prints to the white layer.
    • Set aside.
  • Ribbon: Glue the ribbon where the two designer papers meet by gluing to the back of the layer on both sides. Glue layer to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Branch: Cut one branch with the die and Old Olive Cardstock. Glue over the designer paper layers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Poinsettia: Cut 1 poinsettia flower with 2-3/4″ flower die, 1 poinsettia flower with the 2″ poinsettia die and 1 poinsettia flower with the1-1/4″ poinsettia die. Color the petals on all 3 flowers with Barely Blush Shimmer Pen. Glue all 3 flowers stacked together and glue to the bottom of the designer paper layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Bling: Add 1 Adhesive-Backed Blooms to the center of the poinsettia.
  • Sentiment: Barely Blush Cardstock 3 x 1/4. Stamp the sentiment with Peaceful Pine Ink. Glue over the branch above the poinsettia.
