Kylee Ann Turns 8!

It was a Happy 8th Birthday party to my middle granddaughter Kylee yesterday. You are probably wondering why my card is turtle-themed for a little girl right?
Kylee is Grammie’s little tomboy (just like I was). She shares her middle name Ann with me and she kind of takes after me. She loves to go hunting for frogs, toads and bugs. It’s something my daughter Jessica does with all three girls nightly right at dusk and we always get to see photos. My daughter will usually ask each girl, what theme they would like for an upcoming birthday and Kylee wanted turtles this year. Thus, my turtle card was born!

I used the Turtle-y Awesome Bundle and Turtle-y Cute Designer Paper with a few additional layers for a Slim Line Card. Here are my layers:
- Card Base: Pretty Peacock Cardstock 8-1/2 x 8. Score and fold at 4.
- Layer 2: Poppy Parade Cardstock 8-1/4 x 3-3/4. Glue to card base.
- Layer 3: Turtle-y Cute Designer Paper 8 x 3-1/2. Glue to card front.
- Diecut: Use the round circles diecut from the Lovely Blossoms Dies with Pretty Peacock Cardstock. Glue about 1-1/2″ from the left edge with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Turtle: Cut the preprinted turtle image from the designer paper with Paper Snips and glue turtle to the diecut circles with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Balloon: Cut the preprinted balloon image from the designer paper with Paper Snips and glue tucked under the turtle on the right with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Banner 1: Poppy Parade Cardstock 3-1/4 x 7/8. Trim the right end into a banner shape with Paper Snips. Glue to the right of the turtle, adding Stampin’ Dimensionals on the right end.
- Banner 2: Darling Ducking Cardstock 2-5/8 x 5/8. Stamp the sentiment with Pretty Peacock Ink. Glue to poppy banner.
- Bling: Add Shades Of Green Hexagons to some of the diecut circles.

Happy Birthday, Kylee. your birthday card is so cute. Your cake was very nice.
Thanks Gloria, the kids had a lot of fun!
