Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. How would you like to see a “Unique Card Fold” from all of us on the team today? I decided to create a card using the Quarter Fold Card Fold. Isn’t this a neat card?

The four flaps are tucked just like you would do with a box top and then you just untuck them to reveal the inside of the card:

The card base is actually two pieces of cardstock scored and folded and then glued on top of each other. You can see a close-up of the inside of my layers in the next photo. I used Whisper White Cardstock layered with the Gingham Gala Designer Paper and then added a second layer of Whisper White Cardstock:

And finally, one last photo to show the card flaps all tucked back in place. Sort of like tucking your child in bed at night, haha! I love the way the Coastal Cabana Cardstock layer and butterflies really pop against the Gorgeous Grape cardstock and designer paper. So pretty!

Card Supplies:

  • Stamps: Butterfly Gala
  • Inks: Memento Black, Bermuda Bay
  • Cardstock: Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
  • Designer Paper: Gingham Gala
  • Tools: Simply Scored, Stampin’ Trimmer, Butterfly Duet Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Steps to creating the Quarter Fold Card Fold:

  • Card Base #1: Gorgeous Grape Cardstock 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score at 2-3/4″ on both ends.
  • Card Base #2: Gorgeous Grape Cardstock 8-1/2″ x 5-3/8″. Score at 2-1/8″ on both ends.
  • Layer the 11″ cardstock piece horizontally in front of you. Glue the 8-1/2″ cardstock piece on top vertically. You should now have 4 flaps. Start folding one flap at a time towards the center, the 2nd flap over the 1st flap, the 3rd flap over the 2nd flap. When you get to the last flap, fold towards the center and tuck one corner under the 1st flap.
  • Cut 4 pieces of the Gingham Gala Designer Paper to measure 2-1/2″ x 1-7/8″. Glue to each flap. I added a piece of Coastal Cabana Cardstock measuring 2-3/8″ x 1-3/4″ over one of the designer papers. I also added a Whisper White Cardstock piece for the sentiment layer that measures 1-3/4″ x 1-1/4″.
  • Butterflies: Stamp two sets of butterflies on Coastal Cabana Cardstock using Bermuda Bay Ink and cut out using the Butterfly Duet Punch. I stamped the antennae for each butterfly on the designer paper before I glued each butterfly in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Inside layers: Whisper White 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″. Gingham Gala Designer Paper 5″ x 3-3/4″ and Whisper White Cardstock 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″. Add another set of stamped butterflies to the inside and card is complete!
