Wednesday Wacky-Big Shot Club!

April 25, 2012 1 Comment

I’m going to miss my “Big Shot Girls Club”. We had our last class before breaking for the summer this week. Summer only lasts a few months here in Maine and I don’t usually hold many workshops or classes so I can enjoy the summer months.

Here are the 3 projects we worked on for this month’s class:

Project #1:
We used the “Striped Textured Embossing Folder” on the “Whisper White Cardstock” layer. First we brayered “Cajun Craze Ink” directly on the embossing folder stripes, embossed using the “Big Shot Machine”, wiped the folder clean and added “More Mustard Ink” to the stripes. This time we turned the cardstock layer 180 degrees and embossed the 2nd color. Looks like plaid doesn’t it?

Card Supplies:
  • Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White
  • Inks: More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Pear Pizzazz
  • Tools: Big Shot Machine, 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Stripes Textured Impressions Folder, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Brayer
  • Accessories: Dotted Scallop Ribbon in More Mustard
  • Stamps: Tagtastic
Project #2:
I think I first spotted this cute little fella on Lynn Putt’s blog. So cute and he’s made with the “Pillow Box Die”.
Box Supplies:
  • Tools: Big Shot Machine, Large Oval Punch, Pillow Box Die, Tasteful Trim Die, 5 Petal Flower Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, 3/4″ Circle Punch, 1/2″ Circle Punch, Owl Punch
  • DSP: Brights Patterns Paper Pack
  • Cardstock: Pumkin Pie, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Basic Black
Project #3:

This card features the “Half-cut Die Technique”. What does that mean? It means you only cut half of the chosen shape. I have a link below to a tutorial on how to complete this. It was very popular a while back and seems to have resurfaced in blog land due to the debut of the framelits:

Notice how the half-cut creates a window in the photo above. Below is the card fully opened and flat to reveal the inside:

  • Inks: Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, Lucky Limeade
  • Stamp Sets: Apothecary Art,
  • Tools: Big Shot Machine, Labels Collection Framelits, Sponge Dauber
  • Accessories: Peach Parfait 1/2″ Stitched Poly Ribbon, Dazzling Details

Thanks for reminding me of the tri-fold card. I want to try it and I certainly like your's. It looks easy enough for even my Stampin' Girls. p.s. love your blog.
