I have a cool tip for you this week for my Tuesday Tips or Techniques. You are in the process of planning a card and you take out a certain color from your scraps. You have a perfectly sized piece of cardstock you want to use…….oh no, it has a punch shape already cut out of it:

Look at the photo above…..I have a perfectly sized layer I would like to use on my card front but it has a 2 1/2″ Circle Punch shape already cut out of it. Why wouldn’t you be able to use this? Keep scrolling….

I layered my Very Vanilla Cardstock piece over a Night of Navy card front and then….

I covered it with another layer. But wait a minute, where did the circle punch hole go? It’s hidden under the top layer! Would anyone ever know………no! This is a great way to save some cardstock.
Another tip….before you glue all your layers together when setting up your card, if you decide you are going to use a sentiment and a punch, punch that sentiment layer out of one of your layers so it’s hidden and then glue your layers in place!
I hope you have enjoyed this week’s tip! Come back and visit tomorrow for my Wednesday Wacky!

What a light bulb moment here! Great idea Debbie. I save my scraps but use them for cutting smaller pieces. Never thought to do this. Thanks so much for sharing.
This really is a great way to save cardstock.
Yup I do that too. I love that EF, who makes it?
Ter 😉
Ter, this is a brand new folder that will available to all customers on August 1st! in the new Holiday Mini! It's my new favorite and lots of other stuff too!
I do the above a lot. In fact, I actually cut the bulk of the cardstock out of a middle layer to save for future projects. Why waste it being hidden?
