Tiny Goodie Box

Kay Sha came up with this little goodie box on her blog called Creations on Paper. Isn’t it just darling? She made is specifically for the Ghiradelli Chocolate Squares. I’m thinking little chocolate nuggets would look cute in there also. I haven’t quite decided what to use it for yet but thought it was so cute……….that I needed to make one!

I took step-by-step photos:

1)Start with a cardstock piece measuring 8-1/2″ x 3-11/16″. Score crosswise at 2″, 4″, 6″ and 8″. Now flip your cardstock piece and score lengthwise at 1″ and 2″. Your cardstock piece should look like the photo above.

2) Now trim your cardstock piece by removing portions to look like the photo above. Cut with scissors to form flaps.

3) Apply Sticky Strip as I did above. You can see the Sticky Strip as it has a red lining to it.

4) Remove the lining from the Sticky Strip and adhere the sides first to form a square box, and follow that by folding and adhering the flaps to form the bottom of the box.

5) Cut out 2 pieces of cardstock 2.5″ x 2.5″ square. Using the Ticket Corner Punch, punch all four corners. Adhere one square to the bottom of the box.

6) Adhere the 2nd square to the top flap of the box.

7) Using DSP, cut a square 2.25″ x 2.25″ and again use the Ticket Corner Punch for all 4 corners. Layer and adhere to top square on top flap of box.

8) Using the Round Tab Punch, cut one and fold in half. Using the Horizonal Slot Punch, punch both layers together to create a hole for the handle as seen in the picture above. Bend to form legs on each side of the tab.

9) Using Sticky Strip, apply a strip inside the handle to glue the 2 pieces together.

10) Add Sticky Strip to the two legs and adhere to the front of the box to form the handle.

This is what your box should look like at this point.

11) Now we will be creating the “Belly Band” to keep the box closed. Cut a piece of cardstock 8.5″ x 1″. Wrap around the box, snug enough to keep the box closed but also loose enough to slide off and on. Glue the 2 ends together. I used Tombow Glue on mine.

12) Once glued, I slid the belly band off and embossed with the Square Lattice Impressions Folder. Slide back onto the box once you have embossed your band.
