Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. Our theme this week is Strip It Down. One-layer cards are the hardest for me. I’m not an overly-busy and cluttered designer but I’m also not super simple. This was a real challenge! Here’s my stripped-down-one-layer card:
I started out with a layer of Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score in the center at 5-1/2 and fold. I used the Soar Confidently stamp set and started out by adding Mango Melody Ink at the top with a Blending Brush and using a scrap with a 2″ hole cut in the center with the 2″ Circle Punch as my stencil. I then stamped over the sponged color with the airplane image and Soft Suede Ink.
My next step was to add a scrap piece of paper about 1-1/2″ from the bottom and I used a 2nd Blending Brush to add Soft Suede Ink at the bottom below the scrap paper.
My last step was the stamp the sentiment below the airplane image using Soft Suede Ink. That’s it! Quick & Simple and did I tell you I love our new Blending Brushes? You must add them to your wish list. Highly recommended!
