stillADDinktive Challenge #1!

January 2, 2013 9 Comments

Welcome, welcome….to a brand spanking new challenge team that I have the pleasure of being included on. This new challenge debuts as “still addINKtive” and is hosted by Bronwyn Eastley and Kathy Tanner. Since this is our first week, here is how our challenges will run:

Our Monthly Schedule

We will be running a challenge competition on Weeks 1 and 3 of any given month which will be a Sketch and Colour combined.  We will reference Stampin’ Up! ® colors but you are welcome to use others that are a very close match.  If there is a Week 5, we will choose either a sketch or a color combo for that week.

Prizes will be awarded on the first challenge of each month.

On Weeks 2 and 4 we will feature a Stampin’ Up! ® Stamp Set
and ask that you link up any projects that you have created using that
set.  This means either old and new projects, with a limit of 3 links
per blog or web site, are welcome.  Some other blogs call this a ‘Linky
Party’ or a ‘Product Blog Hop’ but we are calling it – Spot that Stamp Set!  It will be a wonderful resource!

And without further adieu, here is still addINKtive Challenge #1:

I love that this challenge is a combined sketch and color challenge. This is my card for SA1:

I was ecstatic to find out Stampin’ Up! was going to offer a “Hexagon Textured Impressions Folder” in the new Spring Catalog….yippee! I used it for my background layer. Do you like?

I stamped a trio of flowers from the a new stamp set called “Secret Garden”. And want to know what is so special about this stamp set? It has a coordinating set of framelits dies called “Secret Garden” also! Stamp the flower images and cut them out. No more fussy cutting! I know a few girls that will be happy to hear this. I added sparkly centers to my flowers using “Dazzling Details”.

The stamped branches from the “Language of Friendship Stamp Set” are inked in “Wild Wasabi Ink” and cut out with the “Bird Punch”.

Here is a listing of all the supplies I used today:

  • Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Elegant Eggplant, Baja Breeze, Whisper White
  • Inks: Elegant Eggplant, Wild Wasabi
  • Tools: Big Shot Machine, Honeycomb Textured Impressions Folder, Secret Garden Framelits Dies, Bitty Banners Framelits, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Bird Punch, Dazzling Details
  • Inks: Elegant Eggplant, Wild Wasabi
  • Stamps: Secret Garden, Itty Bitty Banners, Language of Friendship
  • Accessories: Rhinestone Jewels

Remember to add your link HERE if you want to participate in this challenge. We would love to have your aboard!
