My hubby Dave and I were visiting Baltimore Maryland for a few days. I attended the Stampin’ Up! CentreStage event which for me, because of my title, started on Friday night into a full day on Saturday. Our events have now changed so that they are being held every six months in different locations throughout the USA. Maryland was the closest one to me which was a 12.5 hour drive and Dave prefers to drive rather than fly. Dave was anxious to get home so we drove home on Sunday instead of Monday. We left at 5 a.m. and arrived home at 7:30 p.m. Wow, that was a long time to sit in a car!
So this is the convention center where our event was held….it was HUGE!

Once we entered the front entrance, this is what greeted us to give us direction to Hall F which was located downstairs:

I attended what is called CentreStage, on Friday night for leaders. We had a great supper followed by some leadership training. The table looked fabulous:

And the meal was so good! I forgot to take a photo of the luscious desert that was included also:

Now, let me tell you that I am very shy when it comes to going somewhere all by my lonesome. I knew I was going to be with a group from my team on Saturday but Friday…nope, all by myself. So Dave came with me to drop me off and as I proceeded to Hall F, low and behold, there stood Ruth Snyder and we were both so glad to see each other. She is also from Maine and I met her at a Maine gathering we attended last year. It was great to catch up with her:

When we first arrived, we were given a Stampin’ Up! bag that had surprises inside:

This was what was given to us as gifts and the swap card you see is the one I showed you yesterday. I made 40 of these cards to swap with other demonstrators:

I also met Kathryn Grodin from Wurtsboro NY. She sat with us and was a hoot to chat with. We were some of the first attendees to arrive. You can see how many tables were set up for Saturday’s event and where we sat was only half of the room:

The photo below shows you the documents mailed to me before I left. The name tag is something we all wear on a lanyard which displays the event and our title and we add pins to demonstrate our awards if any are received:

Before I left for the event, I was contacted by Stampin’ Up! to create a card for the Artisan Display Board. My thoughts were that Christmas is just around the corner so I opted with a Christmas theme. It’s so easy to create a masterpiece when you have great Stampin’ Up! products to work with, especially when they coordinate with each other. So this is my card that was displayed on the Artisan Board at OnStage Local in Baltimore Maryland:

Although I did not get chosen for the team, it was an honor to be asked to create a sample for the board:

Now here I show you the close-up of photo’s I took at home before I donated the card to the board to never be held by me again:

I used the Reason For The Season stamp set with the Festive Flower Builder Punch. Purchase both of these as a bundle and save 15%! This poinsettia flower is full of shimmer & shine which was hard to capture with my camera. I also have layer upon layer of petals. It is gorgeous in person. The card was on the display board with my name beside it. I’ll show you that in another post also:

You can see in the photo below just how many layers I added to make it look pretty:

Thanks for stopping by to visit me today!

Well Debbie, there are not enough words to express how beautiful this card is. I love the colors, the layers and truly the whole thing! Great, great job. Congratulations on being chosen to make a card. Hope you made two!!
Nancy Farrell 🙂
Wonderful pictures, Deb, thanks for sharing them with us! Knew you would find people you know and make new friends…but I am the same way….makes a big difference being shy! Your card is gorgeous, sorry you did make the Artisian Team, but as you said, what an honor to be invited to create a fab card!
Now you can rest and relax being back home!
Your card is gorgeous! And Baltimore is a 40 minute plane trip for me……should have gone and met up with you!
A truly beautiful card!
Because of posts like this I surf the internet and when I found you, the time I felt I was wasting, just turned my thoughts around and now I am thinking I invested my time in something really interesting.
