I just had to create a “Happy St. Patrick’s Day” card. Seems like the hustle and bustle of Valentine’s Day and Easter pushes this holiday aside.
Did you know that in the customs of today, Saint Patrick’s Day is widely celebrated in America by Irish and non-Irish alike. Many people, regardless of ethnic background, wear green-colored clothing and items. Traditionally, those who are caught not wearing green are pinched, usually affectionately.
Anyway, here is my card:
Another clever way to use your “Full Heart” punch. I embossed the “Whisper White” background using an Impressions Folder and then gently rubbing “Champagne Mist” shimmer paints across the bumps with a “Sponge Dauber”. Did you know the “Shimmer Paints” are still available until supplies last? These paints were so popular during the Holiday Mini catalog that Stampin’ Up! decided to extend the sale on these! Grab them while you can, and at $5.95 a bottle, what a deal. They come in Champagne Mist, Frost White, and Platinum. Not only do I apply them with sponge daubers, I also bought some small plastic spray bottles and mixed them with alcohol to create a shimmer mist spray. You can also apply the paint to your stamps and stamp on your projects.
Also used in this project is the “Designer Label Punch” and the “Small Oval Punch”. The ribbon is from the new Occasions Mini Catalog and 9 new colors were added. The sentiment is from “Teeny Tiny Wishes” stamp set.
