Our local store “Scraps” had a Scrapmania scheduled this weekend and I thought I would introduce them to a “Shoebox Swap”. What is a “Shoebox Swap”? A shoebox swap is
basically where each person plans and creates a card that takes approximately
10-15 minutes to create. We find out how many people are signed up a few days before the event and you then cut up enough materials & supplies for everyone to create your card. You then add everything you need to to complete your card in a small plastic
tote or shoebox sized container along with the example of your finished card.
When everyone is seated, we pass our shoebox to the right. You
create what is in the box given to you. Once everyone is finished with the first
shoebox, we again pass to the right until all boxes have been passed around. It’s a lot of fun and it’s always a surprise to see what everyone has come up with for projects.

Here is the card I made for the girls to create:

My job at this event was to show the girls how a shoebox swap operated and they were very successful! The girls all went home with 8 new cards! I made the surprise announcement that Deb L. would now be in charge of recruiting for their next shoebox swap! Go Deb!
Card Supplies:
- Cardstock: Early Espresso, Sahara Sand, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Old Olive
- Stamp Set: Forest Festivities, Woodgrain Background Stamp
- Inks: Early Espresso
- Tools: Scallops Die, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, Stampin’ Pastels, Blender Pen, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Snowburst Textured Impressions Folder, BigShot Machine

I love this card! The woodgrain stamp and the embossing really adds to the visual appeal! And the shoebox swap sounds like such a cool idea! Thanks for sharing!
