Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. Happy 4th of July! Our theme this week is very appropriate….Red, White & Blue! I’ve seen some woven cards lately and I thought I would come up with one of my own. I used scraps of Real Red, Whisper White and Misty Moonlight. I cut them up in 1/4″, 1/2″ and 3/4″ strips. You like?

It was pretty easy to weave. All of my strips are glued down with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals for height. I started by gluing the vertical strips first and adding the dimensionals on the ends and then weaving the horizontal strips. It was so much fun and quick to assemble!

I finished off my card by adding a little bit of bling and some diecuts and you can follow the steps here if you want to replicate my card today. Thanks for visiting with me!
Card Recipe:
- Card Base: Thick Whisper White Cardstock 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score and fold at 5-1/2″.
- Layer #2: Whisper White Cardstock 5-1/4″ x 4″. Set aside.
- Strips: Cut strips in three sizes 3/4″, 1/2″ and 1/4″ using Real Red, Whisper White and Misty Moonlight Cardstock and cutting them 5-1/2″ long. Starting at the top of Layer #2, use Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and glue alternating strips even at the top and adding 1/4″ spacing in-between each strip. Once the top row is completed, start weaving the horizontal strips one at a time and adding Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals at each end. Trim to fit. Once all strips have been weaved, trim the bottom even and add Mini Dimensionals under each strip. Glue layer to card front.
- Note: When weaving the horizontal pieces, start by weaving and alternating each strip under and over the vertical strips. When you add the 2nd strip, weave under and over opposite to the first strip. Repeat, adding 1/4″ spacing between all strips and glue in place on each end using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Die-cut: Cut the round die-cut using the Tasteful Labels Dies with Silver Foil Sheets. Glue to card front.
- Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment from the Happiest Of Birthdays stamp set on Whisper White Cardstock using Real Red Ink. Cut with the Tasteful Labels Dies and glue over the Silver Foil die-cut using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Bling: Add Red Rhinestone Jewels to the background.
