I received a Stampin’ Up! order on Thursday and as I dug out a new stamp set called “Picture This”, a little light bulb went off! My daughter had purchased the “So Tweet” chipboard set a few months ago and I asked her if I could have a few of the pre-cut images to experiment with. One of those images included a pear. What am I getting at? One of the stamps in this set has the wording “to a perfect “pear”. My parents will be celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary on July 4th of this year so I thought I would create an anniversary card.
First I embossed my “Whisper White” cardstock with a texturz plate using the “Big Shot”. I then rounded the corners by using the “Corner Rounder” punch. Next I applied gold ink to the edges utilizing a “Sponge Dauber”. Layer this over “Whisper White” background. I stamped the sentiment in gold ink and used to “Modern Label” punch followed by gold ink around the edges and a few brads for embellishment. For the chipboard pear, I applied gold ink to all 4 pieces using a “Sponge Dauber”. I let the ink dry completely for about 15 minutes, then using a 2nd “Sponge Dauber” applied “Champagne Mist-Shimmer Paint” over the gold. WOW! You should see the card in person. The shimmer is spectacular! I double wrapped the card with “Gold Elastic Cord” that was available in the Holiday Mini that just expired on Jan. 4th. Finish off the card by adding “Stampin’ Dimensionals” to the punched image and I used “Tombow Glue” to adhere the pear to the card.
