Paper Pumpkin August!

Before I move on to my post for today, I’m just reminding you that Melissa and Nicole have their card projects up on their blogs today for Preview Week for the Holiday Card “Create”tions at Create with Connie & Mary.

Here’s the kit all wrapped up along with a Hello Honey Stampin’ Spot and 4 stamp sentiments along with one polka dot stamp image:

Large envelopes, small envelopes and card layers:

Banners, Card Bases, and string tie reinforcements for the envelopes:

I added the card fronts on top of the envelopes so you could see the words with the color peeking through, there’s 2 of each of these:

And here we have glue dots, twine, sequins, brads, Stampin’ Dimensionals and 6 cut-outs:

I had so much fun coming up with different ideas with this kit. I even used the envelopes to make 2 boxes. Sorry if this post is going to be long but I wanted to show you each individual project in case you want to make some of these yourself:

These are the 2 boxes I made. One with 2 large envelopes and the other box is made with 2 of the smaller envelopes. I’ll even show you how at the end of my post.

And now for the cards. You can pretty much figure them out just by looking at each one. I did use additional cardstock sheets in Whisper White, Hello Honey and Strawberry Slush for card bases. If you cut the designer paper in half, you end up with two pieces for your cards:

On the card above, I cut the designer paper in half for two pieces and below, I added a small card glued to the large card:

What to do with all of those reinforcements? Use them layered for the background:

The card below uses some of the banners cut in half and glued to the back of the Hello panel:

The little card below has a matching envelope:

And this next one is the small envelope decorated on the outside and….

….decorated on the inside. Just flip the envelope open to reveal the attached card. It’s all one piece:

All you need to do is cut the little flap with the adhesive on it completely off:

Next we have a coordinated large envelope and card. The card is flat with a layer of Strawberry Slush Cardstock. I also added a little handle cut with the Curly Label Punch that I folded and stapled on:

And finally, here’s how to make the boxes. I have the small one in step-by-step photos:

Fold 2 small envelopes on the score lines. You will also need a piece of cardstock measuring 2 1/2″ x 1 3/4″. Peel the backing off of the adhesive of one rounded tab and glue to the cardstock piece as shown below:

Now glue two sides of each box together, one short side over one long side, making sure the width will equal 1 3/4″:

Glue the other two other sides together and glue the 2nd bottom flap to the cardstock piece. Your box should look like this:

Decorate your box as you like:

The large box is made in the same manner but because it is much larger, requires a little bit more stability on the bottom. The white piece for the bottom on this one measures 7″ x 3 2/4″ and you need to score 1
1/8″ on both ends and fold. The large middle portion is the bottom of
your box. The two sides fold upwards and are glued to the sides of your
box when you fold the box sides over. I left the flaps open so you can add reinforced circles and a brad
to each flap and then you can tie them together. All of the cards I made
fit in this larger box as a “card keeper” or you can add treats to it!
