The Paper Players Challenge-PP71

November 7, 2011 10 Comments

If you would have been sitting in my stamp room with me when I read this challenge at “The Paper Players”, you would have witnessed my jaw-dropping “wow”! Read it for yourself:

Where to start with this one?  I looked through all my packets of DSP and finally settled on a hostess DSP called “Cheerful Treat”. I love the light pink gridded & flourished design on one of the sheets and picked two other designs from the same DSP package to match:

…so that took care of the “3 different patterned papers. Now to move on to “2 different ribbons”. First I lined my pink DSP with a scrunched ribbon off to one side. I accomplished this by adding a piece of Sticky Strip on the back and gluing the ribbon from behind. Now where do I stick the second piece of ribbon? I thought and thought and finally came up with a double bow and tied in a tiny piece of 1/8″ Taffeta ribbon in a knot around the double bow:

Okay, two more steps…a least one punch and a sparkling of glitter. Well, I combined this one, I used 2 punches and Glimmer Paper! I outlined 2 of my pieces of DSP with the Scallop Trim Punch and then I outlined my oval with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch and Glimmer Paper. I was a little leery of using the Blossom Bouquet Punch on the Glimmer Paper but it cut through very easily. I cut the flowers in half and glued them around my oval using Sticky Strip:

I also added Rhinestone Brads on the inside of my die-cut snowflake for some more “sparkling glitter”:

I hope you have enjoyed my card for today. It sure was a great challenge. I had to really think on this one. Make sure you visit the submissions from the design team as they are all wonderful to look at! Have a great day and thanks for visiting me!

  • Tools: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Snowflakes Set #2 Die, Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch, Sticky Strip, Ovals Die, Big Shot Machine

I don't think I've seen that hostess DP used anywhere—but it makes for a sweet card! I had trouble with the two ribbons too, but you managed to fit them in in a cute way! Thanks for playing with us this week at the Paper Players!

Well, guess what Debbie? I am going to take your "jaw-drop" and raise you one with a really big WOW!! You took this challenge and whipped up a pretty pink, masterpiece, indeed! I don't even know where to start. Ok, first, all the pretty PINK (*thud*), next that punched "frame"…top it off with a fabulous ribbon treatment and you have a stunner!

I agree with LeAnne, I dont think I have seen this paper featured anywhere else and now I am convinced I HAVE to have it. Thank you so much for joinin gus this week at the Paper Players for my recipe challenge. Hugs! 🙂
