PPA24 – Simple Sketch Challenge

Happy New Year!! Welcome to the first Pals Paper Arts Challenge of 2010. This week Pals Paper Arts is hosting a Simple Sketch Challenge.

•PPA sketches are designed by Margaret Moody, a talented Pal with a knack for clean layouts and stunning design.

•We can free to rotate/flip the sketch for our card layout.

This is my “creation”:

I just “LOVE” this “2 Step Bird Punch”. It is available for purchase in the new Occasions Mini Catalog. As demonstrators, we were able to preorder back in December and play with all of our new goodies a month before the catalogs went live.

I made my own buttons by using the 1/2″ punch and using the new DSP “Shades of Spring. I used my “Mat Pack” and “Paper Piercing Tool” to make the two holes on each button. I then added “Crystal Effects” to give the buttons a 3 dimensional look and a glossy finish. Once dry (about a 1/2 hour), I threaded each button and adhered them using “Stampin’ Dimensionals” for height.

Here is a close-up of my cute little bird:

This is what the new punches look like. As you will notice, the image is also on one side. You can stand these punches upward so that they take up less room. The “Pinking Hearts Border Punch” is also a new stamp in the Occasions Mini Catalog. It has a co-ordinating corner punch. All punches also lock in place when you are finished using them to make them flat.

Debbie, I love how your bird and all other parts of your card coordinate! That DSP is wonderful! Plus, the Pinking Hearts border was the perfect punch to use. Just so sweet…

How cute is that bird? I wish we could get our hands on Stampin Up in South Africa. Anyway, your card looks gorgeous. Those colors look really good together.
