Pals Paper Arts-PPA18 & Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

We are celebrating for dinner rather than lunch so I had time to check the Pals Paper Arts website this morning for their challenge. Here is the challenge for this week:

For the week’s challenge, the Pals are sending you a “K.I.S.S.” (Keep It Simple, Sweetie) The following are suggested guidelines for creating a KISS card:

•Clean with lots of ‘white’ space
•Simple Designs
•Minimum time to create
•Limited layers and embellishments

For my card, I picked the “Gobble, Gobble” stamp. This stamp is available in the under $10.00 page of the Stampin’ Up! Idea Book & Catalog. I inked the stamp in Chocolate chip ink and then using my sponge dauber, I added a hint of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to the edges. I also mixed, in a small spray bottle: 7 drops of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint along with 1 oz. of rubbing alcohol to make a spray mist. I read about this idea and recipe on Andrea Walford’s website. She is from Canada and has wonderful ideas. With my shimmer spray paint mixture, I sprayed the background Whisper White that I also ran through my Big Shot using Texturz Plates. It is hard to see in the picture, but the background just “shimmers” with color. It’s beautiful! For the remainder of the card I used Chocolate Chip and Sahara Sand cardstock. The ribbon is Alpine Ribbon Originals that you can purchase on my website that is on the clearance rack. 3 spools for $6.99 while supplies last! The punches used were Modern Label punch and the Word Window Punch. This is a quick and easy card to complete.

Okay, now that I’ve played first thing this morning, off to get ready for the Thanksgiving feast!
