My New Promotion and My September Club Projects!

September 11, 2018 Leave a Comment

This arrived in the mail from Stampin’ Up! last week. Finally, after three years I promoted in title. What does it take to get to this level with Stampin’ Up!? It takes a certain amount in sales and it takes a certain amount of recruiting and it takes having someone on my team with recruiting one person on their team. I have two girls on my team that recruited during our ink pad promotion. Congrats to Anne Porter and Maggy Everett for both recruiting in July! Well done girls. They both promoted in title also.

I met with my clubs for the month of September and these were the two cards we created using the Alpine Adventure Bundle for the card on the left and the Falling For Leaves Bundle for the card on the right:

This first card looks like any normal card, but keep scrolling down to see more detail and a surprise on the inside. We started out by embossing the front of the Crumb Cake Cardstock layer with the Woodland Embossing Folder first and then I showed my attendees how to add a piece of scrap paper to the edge of each tree, one at a time and sponge Whisper White Ink to make the trees more realistic:

Isn’t that little die-cut sleigh adorable? And we added two layers of snow using the Sparkle Glimmer Paper at the very bottom of the card. The shape for both pieces was hand-cut and layered:

Once you open the card, you’ll see a super-neat accordion folding on the inside with a few die-cuts glued to each accordion. This is called a Flag Card Fold:

And a view from the top:

If you come back to visit me tomorrow, I’ll have a video posted on how to create this card fold. For card #2, we created a fall-themed card:

It was fun to use all of the leaf images, some stamped and some die-cut only, into a cluster on the left over a pretty strip of designer paper. Have I told you lately how much I love the color Lemon Lime Twist? It looks great as the color for the largest leaf. I love how it pops against the other fallish colors on my card:

Here are the color combinations I used today:

Lemon Lime Twist
Cajun Craze
Crushed Curry
Whisper White
Gray Granite
Early Espresso
Crumb Cake
Whisper White
Pool Party
