Happy Monday Stampers! You are in for a treat today with a new challenge at Merry Monday brought to you by Karen and that challenge includes these colors:

I have a little story about these colors. I remember a few years ago when my son Greg was in high school, he oftentimes wore gray and tan together and I always shook my head thinking “that just does not match”. It was all the rage with his age group at the time. So I had to giggle to myself when I saw the colors for today. Years later I have now gotten used to seeing these two colors together and I “kinda” like it! It takes me awhile sometimes to take to something new. Anyway, here is my card for this week:

I dug out my beautiful, gorgeous “Christmas Star” stamp and first inked it with VersaMark Ink followed by Crumb Cake Ink and stamped my star image. By adding the VersaMark Ink first, it keeps the Crumb Cake Ink wet longer so you can emboss it! I then sprinkled Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool. I hand-cut the star and scored all of the lines from each point and folded with both mountain and valley folds. In order to make my star pop off of the card front, I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to each point on my star and glued it to the card front:

Card Supplies:
- Cardstock: Basic Gray, Whisper White, Crumb Cake
- Inks: Crumb Cake, VersaMark
- Accessories: Glimmer Brads, 1/4″ Basic Gray Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon
- Tools: Stripes Embossing Folder, Modern Label Punch, Small Oval Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, Little Leaves Die, Big Shot Machine, Sticky Strip, Spritzer
- Stamps: Joyous Celebrations, My Paper Pumpkin, Christmas Star

You really did these colors proud, whether you love them or not ๐ That dimensional star is gorgeous with the vines around it!
Your star card is a stand-out, Debbie! Love the leaves around the star – they really add a cool touch.
Love the story Debbie. I work a lot in Japanese taupes with quilting fabric, so these colours are around me all the time, I love 'mucky', so adore your card. The star is amazing in 3D, the addition of leaves and the flower in the middle of it is genius, just changes it completely. Lovely!
Have a happy Easter.
