Merry Monday #103!

April 7, 2014 20 Comments

I love snowman although I’m sick and tired of all the snow we’ve had this year in Maine. What a long and cold winter and I’m an avid snowmobiler so you know it’s bad when even I say that! So today at Merry Monday we have a Christmas card challenge to add a snowman to your card:

I used lots of tools today to create my snowmen:

I’m also very pleased with the color combination I used. The Pool Party looks great with the Tangerine Tango and white & black as offsets. My snowmen started out being cut with the Circles Collection Framelits dies. I layered the black behind the white to give the illusion of a top hat. Once I placed my snowmen in the corners of my card base, I trimmed my circles even on the sides:

I used Candy Dots for the eyes & mouths but as you know, there are only a certain amount of each color in a package. I fixed that by using a black Permanent marker and coloring other colors that I don’t use quite as often:

The carrot noses are hand-cut and I drew carrot lines with my Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Write Marker. Make sure you visit all of the Merry Makers on our design team to see their projects for today as there is always lots of inspiration!
Card Supplies:
  • Cardstock: Pool Party, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Basic Black
  • Inks: Pool Party, Blushing Bride
  • Accessories: Pearl Jewels, Candy Dots
  • Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
  • Tools: Big Shot Machine, Snowburst Embossing Folder (retired), Circle Collection Framelits Dies, Sponge Daubers, Word Window Punch, Northern Frost Decorative Strip Die (retired), Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Misc: Black Permanent Marker

Thanks for stopping by to visit!

I know how you feel Debbie – too much snow! Of course now the snow banks are so hard and dirty that snowmobiling is out of the question – snow go away!! Your card is uber-CUTE!!! Love your snowmen and how the one caught a snowflakes on his nose.
