This is a card I created for all of our family members for Thanksgiving. If you keep reading below, I will show you how to get the ribbon treatment effect on the bottom of my card.
The first step is to add a strip of “Sticky Tape” in the location where you want to ruffle your ribbon. Notice the red strip below. Remove red strip so that you now have a sticky area to adhere your ribbon:
Starting on one end, press down about a 1/2″ of ribbon to “Sticky Strip”. Gather about 1/2 an inch of ribbon between your index finger and your thumb and press down, keeping the 1/2 inch of ribbon in-between your fingers, placing the ribbon adjacent to the existing adhered ribbon:
Repeat this step until you reach the end point of your ribbon placement. As I adhere little portions of my ribbon, I alternate the direction of my ribbon so that is zigzags or you can go in a straight direction also. This is what your ribbon should look like when you are finished:
