Good Morning Blog Readers! I hope you didn’t fall prey to any April Fools jokes yesterday. I have to tell you that back in 1985, I was 2 weeks overdue for my first baby. I was terrified to think that I may deliver on April Fools Day but alas, the day went by and I delivered Jessica the following day….phew, that was close! I have a high school friend that was born on April Fools and she was always teased and I did not want that for my child!
So for today’s card I have Jessica’s birthday card that I will be giving her tonight when we meet for supper:

I saw a card shaped like this on Pinterest and thought it was so neat. I wanted the folded-over flap on the front to stay nice and round on the fold so I devised a plan…

I took a skewer, cut it a little shorter than my rounded fold and added Sticky Strip to the skewer and tucked and pressed it in place under the flap and voila, a rounded fold! And yes, this idea was my very own! I also like the looks of the two flowers that I glued over and under the fold in a rounded fashion. To coordinate my card, I made a flap for my envelope with the Envelope Liners Framelits Dies:

Happy birthday to Jessica!! One of my nieces celebrates her 43rd birthday today!! I check your blog daily. Thank you for sharing your creativity.
WOW…fabulous card and design….I looked through your supplies and was surprised not to see the square framelits. LOVE your tip and how you glued down the flowers on the raised 'fold'….your daughter is sure to LOVE her card…obviously made with a lot of love from her mom!
Lovely card and design Debbie, and what a great tip on how to keep the rounded fold from creasing, the skewer gives support and dimension to this beautiful Spring birthday card.
Thank you for sharing and Happy Birthday Jessica!!!!!
Gorgeous card Debbie. Very clever idea using the skewer. I'm sure your daughter loved it.
