It has been raining here ALL weekend! Dave and I had planned on finishing up a little bit of work around the yard before old man winter hits us but to no avail, Mother Nature was not cooperating this weekend. This is my 2nd post for today as I was a little bored this afternoon and decided to play along with “Freshly Made Sketches”. Here is another challenge card for today:

Have you ever purchased the most beautiful Designer Paper and just can’t bring yourself to cut into it? That’s exactly how I’ve felt for months now with the paper you see below:

It almost hurt to cut through it. Isn’t it beautiful? It was really hard for me to get a great photo because the DSP is actually a “window sheet” adorned with red flocking. It feels so soft! The DSP is called “Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Paper”. I’ll let you take a guess as to how I glued it on without any glue showing through…think about it as you look. Take a closer peek at the flocking:

It really didn’t take much to make this card elegant. That’s why I thought Jennifer’s sketch was perfect:

I first added 2 strips of Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon around the bottom of my DSP layer. My little ornament was created with the Ornament Keepsakes image inked in Pool Party. I added a stamped center from the 25 & Counting Stamp Set, cut with the 1″ Circle Punch and popped up with a Stampin’ Dimensional. I added a few Pearl Jewels and tied a bow using Baker’s Twine.
Have you guessed yet how I glued the DSP in place? Okay, I’ll tell you…..

I added Mini Glue Dots under the Seam Binding Ribbon and notice the trio of Pearl Jewels at the top on the DSP? I hid a Mini Glue Dot under each pearl! Clever huh!
Hope you join in on the challenge. See you tomorrow for “Merchandise Monday”!

HI Debbie! That paper is stunning! Love how you added the pearls! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
You did it! You cut into this fabulous paper and made a terrific card with it. I hit little bits of SNAIL behind the more densely flocked parts of the image. I love the addition of the pearls!
Love the pearl accents and your paper is stunning! Thanks for playing with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
This is beautiful and such a great use of that lovely paper!
