Welcome to a new Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. Today our theme is “Fly Away”. I thought the dragonfly image from Awesomely Artistic was perfect for this week.

I started my card off with some sponging, followed by adding all of the stamped images and then added some layers. I decided to make this into a “friend” card:

Here’s the how-to:
- Card Base: Chocolate Chip Cardstock 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score in the center at 5-1/2″ and fold.
- Layer #2: Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper 5-1/4″ x 4″. Glue to card base.
- Layer #3: Whisper White Cardstock 5″ x 3-3/4″. Using Post-It notes, cover an area on both sides of the cardstock that you want to shield from sponging. Using Sponge Daubers, sponge Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry Inks. Remove Post-It notes. Stamp the images using Chocolate Chip Ink. I added the dots and a 2nd layer of branches by stamping on scrap paper first and without re-inking, stamped the images. This gives a lighter layer of ink. Glue to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. TIP: Because you are gluing to glimmer paper, I added a dot of liquid glue to each dimensional.
- Sentiment: Stamp the frame and sentiment on Whisper White Cardstock using Chocolate Chip Ink. Sponge a little bit of color using the left-over ink on each sponge. Cut out using the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits Dies. Glue to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
