Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary! Our theme this week is a color challenge of “Green, Black & Gold”. What pretty colors to use for a Christmas card:
I used the Lovely As A Tree stamp set which is one of our most popular, yet oldest Stampin’ Up! stamp sets. My set was so old, on wood blocks and so stained from all of the years of usage that I decided to replace it with a new set just recently and I was anxious to get it inked up. Love the new rubber to ink! I opted to purchase the Clear Mount this time to save space. My cluster of trees was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat-embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. Isn’t the embossing pretty?
Let’s create this card together! Here’s how:
- Card Base: Basic Black Cardstock 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
- Layer #2: Painted Autumn Designer Paper 5-1/4″ x 4″. Glue to card base.
- Layer #3: Very Vanilla Cardstock 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″. Stamp the cluster of trees using Lovely As A Tree and VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle Gold Embossing Powder and use the Heat Tool to melt the powder. Use a Blender Pen and Wild Wasabi Ink to add a little bit of color on the grassy area. Stamp the sentiment below the trees from the Musical Season stamp set using Basic Black Ink. Glue to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Ribbon: Wrap the 1/8″ Gold Ribbon around the card front and tie into a bow!
