Happy New Year Friends! It’s “Time to Trim Down” today at Create with Connie & Mary. How fun to have this title for our challenge to coordinate with most New Year’s Resolutions! So our challenge also focuses on no more than 2 layers and 1 embellishment only today….

I’m using a brand new stamp set that will be available to you on January 5th called “Helping Me Grow” for today’s card:

If you like to color, this stamp set will be right up your alley. I also used the “Wink Of Stella” in a clear color to color the center of each flower petal. Another new product that will be available in both clear & gold. It’s so easy to color on the shimmer:

Here’s what I did to my card:

• Card Base: Cucumber Crush Cardstock 4-3/4″ x 8-1/2″. Score in the center at 4-1/4″ and fold. Place the folded cardstock on the Big Shot Cutting Plate and add the scalloped square from the Square Collection Framelits Dies. Place the die over the cardstock so that the fold is inside the die and will not cut off the fold. Cut (1) single layer Cucumber Crush Cardstock using the scalloped square from the Square Collection Framelits Dies. Emboss using the Chevron Embossing folder. Glue this layer to the card base lining up all the scallops evenly on each side. This creates the card base.
• Layer #2: Shimmery White Cardstock cut with the Square Collection Framelits Dies that measures 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″. Stamp the sentiment frame and the sentiment about 1/2″ from the bottom using Basic Gray Ink. Stamp a second frame on a scrap piece of paper and hand-cut. This will be your “mask”. Place the mask on the stamped frame of Layer #2 and stamp the flowers over the mask. Remove the mask and color the flowers. I used Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Cucumber Crush and So Saffron for my inks and colored with a Blender Pen. Color the flower petals with the Clear Wink Of Stella. Stamp the corner image in each corner. Add an Antique Brad to the center of the large flower. Glue this layer to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
