I am so getting hooked with the Basic Gray color lately and look at our challenge colors for today at Create with Connie & Mary:

Basic Gray was a color that just took up space on my paper rack for many years but now has become so popular. I even inked up a Tea Lace Doily with Basic Gray Ink using my Brayer:

I created 3 banners, one in Pool Party from the In Color Paper Pack, the 2nd using Whisper White Cardstock and stamping “Mother” from the Amazing Family Stamp Set in Calypso Coral Ink and finally, a 3rd larger banner using the same DSP pack:

My flower looks great with 4 layers all glued together with Stampin’ Dimensionals and topped with a Silver Basics Designer Button adorned with a tiny bow from the Calypso Coral Baker’s Twine. Here are the supplies I used listed below.
Stampin’ Up! Supplies:
- Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Amazing Family
- Inks: Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Basic Gray
- DSP: In Color Paper Pack
- Accessories: Silver Basics Designer Button, Calypso Coral Baker’s Twine, Tea Lace Doily
- Tools: Blossom Punch, 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch, 3/4″ Circle Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Brayer, Mini Glue Dots

Debbie, I love that "dirty doily"! I have had them all this time and didn't think to color them!? What a great idea! Sometimes I have such "DUH" moments!
I have "painted" the doily with my aquapainter but never thought to use the brayer! Love that idea! I love the shabby look you gave this card by bending the paper elements just a bit. Great job with the challenge, Debbie.
I was the same way about Basic Gray but I've learned to really like it too. Your bright banners and generous use of white make for a beautiful card! Love the brayer-on-doily idea!
Honestly I look at some of these color challenges and say, NO WAY! But you've done a lovely job of using them….really like that you used Basic Gray for the base color…and brought in the other colors in such a neat way!
SO PRETTY!! I love how the doily is colored! SO MANY POSSIBLITIES! Thanks for the inspiration!
I am loving Basic Grey more and more, too! It is so elegant! And I love it with these colors! What a fabulous idea to ink the doily in Basic Grey! Love that!! And I love the layered flower! Beautiful!
